Veterans Day to be Commemorated at Nixon Library Free event to honor U.S. military
Veterans Day will be celebrated Wednesday, November 11 at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library. Visitors will enjoy free admission all day 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and a special program saluting the military at 11:00 am in the East Room.
The East Room program will feature the inaugural presentation of the Orange County Veteran of the Year Award, presented to Major General W.R. (Bill) Quinn. Keynote remarks will be made by Major General Richard P. Mills, Commanding General of the 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton. Other honored guests include Congressman Gary Miller of the 42nd California Congressional District and the heads of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
There will be patriotic musical presentations and medleys by the 50-member Villa Park High School Symphonic Band and the 100-voice Orange High School Chamber Singers and Choir.
The program will also feature a military honor guard.
12:45pm Following the Veterans Day program, thrill to a free East Room concert by the highly acclaimed 90-piece Placentia Symphonic Band under the baton of John Hausey.
